Terms & Conditions

1. Scope

These terms apply to all translation, interpreting, proofreading, subtitling, transcription and localization services ordered from business-translate GmbH, Hauptstraße 57, 54439 Saarburg-Beurig, Germany ("we", "us"), whether ordered online through this website or agreed by quote. Deviating terms proposed by a business client apply only if we confirm them in writing.

2. Contract formation

For orders placed through the online shop, the contract is formed when we confirm your order (the order-confirmation page and email constitute this confirmation), not merely when you place it in the cart. For quote-based services, the contract is formed when we confirm your quote in writing and you accept it.

3. Prices and payment

Prices shown on the site are gross, including 19% German VAT (USt), unless stated otherwise for business clients. Payment is due as stated at checkout or in the quote confirmation. Where an invoice is issued for later payment (for example, under the bank-transfer option), payment terms are stated on the invoice.

4. Delivery

Digital delivery is by email to the address you provide. Physical delivery (sealed hard copies) is by post, at the tiers and prices shown at checkout, and is despatched once the digital version is confirmed ready. Delivery timeframes stated on service and product pages are typical turnarounds, not guaranteed delivery dates, except where we confirm a specific date in writing (for example, an interpreting booking).

5. Client obligations

You are responsible for providing accurate, complete source material and for responding to our questions about scope, deadline or content in good time — delays on your side may extend the turnaround accordingly. You confirm that you have the right to share any document or content you send us for translation.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all documents and content you send us as confidential, handled under the retention and access limits described in our Privacy Policy. A separate non-disclosure agreement is available on request before we receive your material.

7. Revisions and liability for errors

Two rounds of revision are included with every order, free of charge, within 14 days of delivery, covering errors, omissions, mistranslations and formatting faults. Full detail is in our Cancellation & Withdrawal policy.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For damage caused by ordinary negligence, our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract, and in any case to the value of the order concerned. This limitation does not apply to liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) or to any liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For contracts with merchants, the place of jurisdiction is our registered seat in Saarburg-Beurig, Germany. Statutory consumer-protection provisions of a consumer's own country of residence remain unaffected.

10. Severability

If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.
